Printer cartridge issue

The HP P2035 printer used by the school bookkeeper to print checks has worked flawlessly for a few years.  Replaced the toner cartridge and now the print does not align correctly in the date and check amount boxes.  The print is one line higher on the page. Tried four different cartridges (3 remanufactured and one OEM) all have the same issue.  Reinsert the previous cartridge and the print is aligned correctly.  The misaligned print is on all documents printed – Word, Notepad, PDF, etc.

The working cartridge is a different design than the replacement cartridges. (See photos on the right.)  Any suggestions on what to try or do?
